The Cory Boylan Family Fund

Donation protected
Early Sunday morning on February 16, 2020, Cory Boylan (37) passed away in his sleep. His sudden loss has greatly affected all the people who have known and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Shari, their two beautiful children, Sydney (8) and Jack (6), and their families. Cory has had many health complications over the years, a brain surgery, neck/spinal surgery, removal of his spleen and gall bladder and an extremely rare blood disorder. After every major operation and recovery period, he remained a warrior and fought hard to regain his health, strength and energy to be present for every milestone and accomplishments for both Sydney and Jack. He was a fighter, always the protector over his family, a family man, never wanting them to miss out on their dreams to be competitive athletes and National AAU taekwondo champions, never missing a single tournament, being present at practices, chaperoning field trips for Sydney and Jack, playing video games with Jack, always up for adventures with the family and close friends. He was a dedicated father and loving husband.

Cory and Shari met when they were teenagers, they are childhood sweethearts, they were each other’s best friends. They both played baseball/softball, Cory graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2007, Shari earned her Masters in Special Education and they began their next chapters adulting and becoming parents.  They remained each other's rock over the last 22 years, thru everything imaginable.  They made great friends and seamlessly merged into the surrounding community; first, by residing in Carroll Gardens for over a decade, then joining the Carroll Gardens CMA Taekwondo family, PS 58, their children's elementary school, and the Team Champions community.  The world has lost a great man, one with a huge heart, unmatched support and passion.

This sudden loss of someone we care so deeply about leaves many of us feeling heartbroken and wanting to reach out and help in any way we can. We are setting up this memorial scholarship fund for Cory's children so that during this difficult time, Shari can maintain structure and routine for the children thru extracurricular activities, their competitive tournament training and future education.  Lets come together and show them that while this tragedy is unspeakably painful, that we support and love Shari, Sydney and Jack. Rest in Peace, Cory, and continue to watch over Shari, Sydney and Jack like you have always done.  ️
