Jason “Jeb” Becker’s Medical Expenses

To whom it may concern,

My father, Jason Becker/Jeb, had a stroke on Saturday February 3rd 2024. He was in Nevada at that time and was shortly transferred to Utah. During the work up they found that he probably has a small hole between the atria of his heart and will undergo surgery to repair the hole and prevent any future complications. At this time they are unsure of the origin of the stroke but this may be a contributing factor.

The doctors are baffled and anxious to meet the vet who ran a 5K with his daughter this summer and has essentially NO medical history but was admitted for a stroke! He maintains his facetious demeanor and keeps on keeping on as he always has!

He is one lucky duck in regards to his stroke as his deficits are limited to his speech and language. He has no physical deficits and no other clots! But communication through talk and text is very trying and frustrating for him! So, please don't be discouraged if you reach out and do not get a reply, he is sure to make me read them to him when they come in!

But, life is going to change drastically for Jason in the upcoming weeks, months, and years. He will need constant supervision for a while before he can return home alone. He is loved by many and has a village of family to aid in the transition home.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to help medical costs, in which he is very concerned about, since he is only covered through the VA and has been unable to get to a VA hospital due to many moving parts and contingencies. The Social Worker has informed us that some of the hospital expenses should be covered but they keep adding up everyday.

We ask that if you are able to help alleviate some of Jason's stress you donate to help fund these expensive procedures because we will not know how much will be covered by the VA anytime soon.
