Bracelets of Hope: Supporting Ashley's Breast Cancer Journey

Hello, friends and strangers! My name is Ashley Mae, and I am a 37-year-old mother of three amazing kids. Life has recently thrown me an unexpected challenge: I've been diagnosed with breast cancer. Thus far, this journey has been tough, but I am determined to fight through it for my children, family, friends, and myself.

In the past few months, I've undergone a bilateral mastectomy to remove the cancer. Unfortunately for me, the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes and was not fully removed near the chest wall. I just started chemotherapy which will last for the next 4.5 months, and is as physically and emotionally taxing as you might imagine. The plan is for me to have 6 weeks of radiation once the chemotherapy is completed and after that, I'll need reconstruction surgery to begin healing both inside and out. Also, unfortunately, I will be required to take hormone-suppressing medication for at least ten years to help keep it from coming back.

With all of this ahead of me, medical bills, medical expenses, and everyday living expenses are starting to pile up, even with two jobs (full-time and part-time) and insurance. I'm humbly asking for your support to help me continue this fight by lessening the financial burden.
