Brad woke up on Friday 4/10/20 with a headache. He said he must have slept wrong. Friday evening Brad gets home from work and is still saying his head was hurting. On April 1st 2020 he had a sinus infection. He didn't take all of his antibiotics so he thought he was getting his sinus infection back. Through out the weekend I am buying different over the counter meds to help him and nothing did. Once I found him some tension headache he said it was easing up. I asked him to go to urgent care and he said it was getting better. I had said I was going to call a ambulance but he said he would refuse. I ended up calling a ambulance at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The paramedics said probably a sinus infection. He gets to our local hospital (Salem, In )and they find a bleeding aneurism. He gets transferred to UofL in (Louisville, KY).
The neuro surgeon does another scan before surgery and finds a 2nd aneurysm in the back of his head. They was going to do a angiogram but due to the 1st aneurism being in a bad spot they had to cut his skull. ( The aneurism on top was in his speech and mobility area). Due to #COVID19 NO ONE could be with him before or after surgery. The nurses said he was doing well. He followed their commands and I got a Hi Eva and a I Love You from Brad. He started to decline so the doctors did another scan. They ended up doing a total 4 angiograms on him not counting his 1st surgery. Brad then has a massive stroke on the right side. Then the left sided was affected by the bleeding from the aneurism on top. By now it is in the middle of the week and we get a call from the doctor saying they have to remove half of his skull to help with swelling. This is a life saving surgery. By now Brad's brain has been effected once more. My love will never be the same. He was put on a ventilator, receiving blood, blood pressure meds to keep his blood pressure high enough, pain meds and anxiety meds. Brad would not be able to care for himself. He would have to have a tracheotomy, feeding tube, he would have been paralyzed. They took Brad off of the ventilator on Thursday. The doctors said it would be less than a hour once they took him off the ventilator. He was donating his organs. The doctors took him down to surgery but Brad wasn't ready to let go. Brad lasted longer than a hour breathing on his own so they brought him back up to his room. Brad went out on Brad's own time and terms. I lost the love of my life on 4/24/20 @ 12:47pm.. We thought our life insurance was good but they say it takes 2 years. In 14 days I went from giving my love a kiss to go to work to a kiss that has to last me a eternity.
