Brad's Cancer Treatment Fund

Hello,
Brad Bush here, Fighting Illini fan, Champaign-Urbana native, fisherman, north woodsman, musician, and Bruce Springsteen and Rolling Stones aficionado. I graduated from Champaign Central in 1976, am an Eagle Scout, and studied at the University of Illinois. Minneapolis has been my home for over 20 years.
My life has been pretty sweet however it just took a life threatening turn. On January 31st I saw my doctor to address severe fatigue. Blood work, transfusions, and a colonoscopy revealed everyone’s nightmare, stage 3 colon cancer. This will be the fight of my life. I have faith and hope but I’m scared, really scared. Too many friends have lost a similar battle.
Asking for help is NOT my idea but I’ve been talked into putting aside my pride and telling it like it is. By the end of March my medical bills will have reached $6,000. That entire amount will only get me through the first treatment, chemo and radiation. Next is extensive surgery and then more chemotherapy that will cost money I just don't have. My brother-in-law, Dave, said it straight, "we are hoping for donations, from those who care, to minimize the stress of his medical bills”. Going into this battle is going to take all my energy and the anxiety about finances threatens to send me over the edge.
Any of your hard earned dollars shared with me will be spent paying for weekly blood work, repeated CAT scans and chemo meds. The current plan has me completing treatment in November. Dave will be handling my account and we both promise, 100% of your donations will go to paying my medical bills.
I am not the best at asking for help, nor am I very comfortable accepting it, or showing my love outwardly. Things are changing, time is a wasting and I want to thank you for a life time of friendship, kindness and memories. Please consider giving whatever you can afford. It quite honestly may mean the difference between life and death for me. I have a lot of people asking “what can I do”, here is the answer. I will be forever grateful and my heart will return the favors a thousand times over.
God Bless
Brad
