Bradford Family Fundraiser

As most of you are aware, Scott and Cathy’s youngest daughter, Maren, was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Leigh’s disease. There is no cure and ultimately their outcome will be tragic.

Just when they didn’t think they could take anymore, the Bradford family have been handed another hurdle.

Scott’s heart is broken, in every sense of the term.

On February 19th Scott was taken by ambulance to Regina. Multiple tests and procedures have shown cardiomyopathy, much likely stress induced, but it’s brought forward some underlying concerns that may be genetic.

Scott had his surgery on February 27th to have a defibrillator (ICD) implanted in his chest. The ICD is just extra assurance that if his heart wants to fail, it will jolt it to wake it up. He is now back at home with his family, he is sore and tired but doing ok. Going forward we will hope and pray that with the meds, his heart can heal and gets stronger. The specialist said it’s a rule of 1/3. 1/3 gets better, 1/3 stays the same and 1/3 gets worse.

It’s been very scary for all of them and they certainly don’t need more on their plate.

The last thing they need to worry about is the financial burden that comes with Scott not being able to go back to work until medically cleared. I know a lot of us feel helpless in how we can help, this is a small gesture that can help to lighten their load. Let’s continue to show the Bradford family the love and support they need and deserve.

Thank you. ❤️❤️
