Brain surgery take 3

GoFundMe is a great site but I never wanted to need it. But I do now, and I have no choice but to swallow my pride and ask for help.

My name is Liz, I am the mum to 4 amazing kids, and wife to an amazing man.

As a lot of you know I was diagnosed with Chiari almost 10 years ago in which I have had to undergo 2 previous surgeries. Unfortunately I have been told yet again that I am in need of another surgery (#3) as I now have brain slumping and spinal cord damage caused by a combination of the condition and previous surgeries. It’s a terrible thing to be told that this condition is progressing and that if I don’t have surgeries I will end up paralysed or worse.

This new surgery is looking to remove more skull bone, brain and put in a metal plate to try to hold my brain up into the position it’s meant to be in and possible cauterising of the cerebellum

this is where I need you help, unfortunately the recovery is long and painful and the surgery itself is extremely costly as there is only 1 Chiari specialist in the whole of Australia.

I will not be able to work for a long while and My husband will need to take time off work also to help with my recovery and the kids as I will be out of action for a minimum of 4-6 months

anyone who knows me knows this is extremely hard for me to even think of let alone ask for help to help cover things.

Your giving will go to all of the medical bills and will help provide for basic needs while in recovery. Helping provide a stress free recovery(as much as it can be with kids ) and lifting the financial burden off is a little so hubby can be at home looking after us for a bit longer.
