Brandon after violent attack

Hello Everyone,
My cousin Brandon was recently attacked by a group of people outside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum venue for a music festival (HARD Summer).
Unfortunately, Brandon was walking alone to our parked car nearby when he was suddenly attacked without warning. All Brandon can recall from the traumatic experience is multiple people punching and kicking him in the face while on the ground. After the assailants fled the scene, Brandon walked Downtown LA bloody, bruised, and completely dazed. Thankfully with the help of a stranger, the police were called, and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
"All I remember was walking, being on the floor, blood, and then the ambulance." - Brandon
Brandon sustained Facial Laceration, Nasal Laceriation, and Facial contusions from the assault, as well as a chipped tooth. The doctor described his assault as if his head was "cheese grated on the concrete".
He was admitted to the ER at 10 pm and was given a CT scan. For 4 hours, he waited bloodied and shaken up all alone. No visitors were allowed since the ER was extremely busy that night. The physician assistants cleaned up his wound around 4 am. Imagine waiting for nearly 6 hours with a face covered in blood, an eye so swollen that you can't even open it, and having no one by your side. Around 7 am, they finally allowed visitors and got to see his older Brother Kevin. After a short visit of 30 minutes, Brandon was finally taken to the operation room where the plastic surgeon was able to perform surgery on his face.
This surgery is not covered by Brandon's insurance and is looking to cost around $3,000 for just the surgical laceration, NOT including other hospital expenses and dentist fees.
We don't understand the reasoning behind this attack and don't want to assume it was a targeted hate crime against a young innocent boy. Our family is just happy that Brandon was able to come home safely and that there were no life-threatening injuries. We know that music festivals are meant to be enjoyed with peace, love, and respect. NOT this hateful violent act that I hope never happens to anyone else. We would appreciate any help from friends, family, or strangers who can support us during this dreadful time.
Brandon is a loved one of many people. The people in his life would tell you that Brandon is the life of the party. He has the energy to befriend anyone and has good intentions for everyone. Even when he was in the ER, his energy shined through while making jokes to make sure his family wouldn't worry about him. Brandon is about to start his last year of nursing school at Cal State Fullerton. I've personally seen the hard work he has put into his future career and also his passion for helping others as he grows in the medical field. Brandon will be starting school in about a week, and this sudden tragedy is demoralizing as he starts his last year of nursing school covered in bandages and barely able to open his mouth. We appreciate your kindness, privacy, and support.
Let's all wish Brandon a speedy recovery ASAP.
Poor kid :(
