Brandon Carlisle
In mid-November, Brandon was feeling unwell. After several weeks of Covid and pneumonia speculation, it was determined that Brandon had a heart attack. He needed bypass surgery, which was scheduled. But then his heart decided to take a very scary direction. After an emergency bypass operation, Brandon’s heart had a difficult time getting back into a healthy rhythm. The bypass surgery was successful. However, his heart went into ventricular tachycardia which, under most situations, is typically deadly. Thankfully, he was in the cardiac unit at Strong when this happened. He was resuscitated and revived. The follow up care included a month’s stay in the hospital. Thankfully, he was able to come home on Christmas Eve. He is slowly healing and getting stronger.
Many people have asked to help. Because his diet is so restrictive, it’s not reasonable to ask people to bring meals. Brandon has been off from work since late November. He will need to be cautious about returning to daily activities due to a blood clot on his heart, traumatic events to his heart, and nerve damage throughout his body. He will need to be able take time to rest and heal.
Brandon has spent much of his adult life giving back to the community. Big Flats Little League has been a huge part of his springs and summers for the last 13 years. He was the little league president for 7 years. He volunteered countless hours coaching, mowing, and managing the league because he loves youth sports and watching the kids play. He is also involved with Big Flats basketball and NYS Division 6 baseball.
He has always been one to take care of others. Brandon could now use some care from others to help cover medical expenses and lost income due to home bound recovery. Thank you for considering helping Brandon. He has been told time and time again that he is lucky to be alive. He plans to make the most of the second chance he’s been given.
P.S. he says he loved this shirt and wore itall the time.
