Help Brandon fight Hydrocephalus!

Donation protected
Hello My name is Lauren, and I am the little and only sister of, Brandon LeFlore, whom has fallen ill and with the help of family and friends we are gathering funds to help Brandon in the near future with his road to recovery.

Help Brandon fight Hydrocephalus

It hurts my heart to have to ask for help at this time, but my family needs it. We need help.

In 2018, my brother Brandon had an emergency operation. He developed Hydrocephalus (A build-up of fluid in the cavities deep within the brain.) on the right side of his brain and had brain surgery to have a shunt installed.
Since then, Brandon has had a revision (it was plugged) and later developed seizures that were controlled by medication. For the past few years, Brandon was able to live a normal life.

Brandon celebrated his birthday on September 25, 2023. The very next day, he returned from a trip to Chicago to celebrate with his grandmother and fiancé.
Unfortunately on September 26th, Brandon had 8 seizures on the way to the hospital because his shunt failed. He had emergency surgery 9/26/2023 in Flint and had a drain tube (EVD) installed in his brain because he developed hydrocephalus on the left side of his brain when the shunt failed. They saved his life.

He has been intubated and sedated ever since.

Unfortunately, he has developed many health problems unrelated to the shunt.
Such as hospital acquired pneumonia and the drain tube became infected.

Thursday, 9/28/2023, he was taken by ambulance to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
He is in critical condition in ICU. He is still intubated, but they have saved his life AGAIN. The doctors, nurses, and staff have been exceptional and extremely supportive.

He will have a new shunt installed. When he's healthier and the infections have gone away.
We, the family, have been by his side every day. We have traveled to Detroit every day or have stayed overnight when his survival was dire.

I believe in the power of prayer. We need prayers for Brandon's recovery and health.. ..and he has a long road to healing.

The most important thing to us is that he survives and heals.

Brandon is young and a fighter. We have witnessed this during this past week. His personality has shined and broke thru the sedation. He's fighting. We're fighting WITH him. I know from past hospitalizations that having his family with him at his bedside is important for him to survive and thrive.

Finally, we, the family( Angie, Robert II, Lauren, Gran Gran, and Robert senior ) have to give love, support, understanding, and appreciation to his fiancé (Laquetta Marie)
If it wasn't for her quick actions during his seizure on 9/26/2023, I may be sharing a more sorrowful story.

In 2018, he was hospitalized for over a month. This time, it will be longer. If you’re able to donate financially, we very greatly appreciate anything and everything. Donations will be used for medical expenses, gas/transportation, bills, home care, physical therapy, doctor appointments, rent, meals, and his long-term recovery.

If unable to help monetarily here are some other thoughtful ideas: a home cooked meal goes a long way, a small get well soon gift or care package (books, gift cards/certificates, movies, puzzles, pictures, jokes, words of encouraging letters) to keep him settled, remembered, loved, and entertained with the time on his hands.

Thank you to everyone is able to help. The thoughts, prayers, and positive energy has kept us going and strong as we help navigate Big Brandon through this hard temporary time.
