Brandon Flaherty: Tragic Loss in Season of Giving

Donation protected
On December 15, 2020 our dear friend, Brandon Flaherty passed away.  Brandon was a husband, father, brother, son, grandson and many things to many people but always a friend. While away for work in Michigan, his wife, our friend Amanda, received a call in Ohio that no wife and mother ever wants to receive.

Anyone who knows Amanda knows her hardworking attitude and soft, thoughtful heart. Through the years,  Amanda has balanced full time work and being a mother other mothers admire, as well as being the backbone and stronghold of her growing family.

Amanda has a son, Connor 10 years old and daughter Blake 1 year old, along with a baby on the way. She is facing: a move to the home she and Brandon bought, Christmas and now planning a funeral.

This season is a time when many of us get caught up in the sparkling details and festivities, forgetting the true meaning of Christmas and the spirit of giving. These are cold days ahead and as darkness looms and you hold your loved ones close, remember that there is a family near and dear to us struggling to cope as they mourn the loss of their father and husband.

Amanda faces certain challenges that most may not consider. Brandon's body is in Michigan. The transportation from Michigan to Ohio will add an extra layer of difficulty and increase costs that most do not have to face. With a baby on the way and two children depending on her, this strong, beautiful woman of unwavering strength needs and deserves our help now more than ever. It is our prayer that this community would pull together to ease her burden as much as possible. Life is not fair. This is a brutal reality no person should face, especially at such a young, fragile age.

Brandon left us too soon, but his wife and children are still here and they need us. Please donate whatever you can and know that your gift of support would mean more than any wrapped box under a tree.
