Brandon Todd Funeral Expenses

Donation protected

Friends and family of Tommy, Caroline and John Todd

My name is John Paul Nyanjom- I am Caroline’s first cousin.

It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this appeal on behalf of the Todd family.

As you may now know, on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, Brandon Todd (24), son of Tommy and Caroline was murdered in Montgomery, Alabama. This tragedy has devastated the Todd family and all those who knew and loved Brandon. An active investigation is underway and arrests have been made.

This appeal is for your assistance with funeral expenses for Brandon’s burial. All the funds collected from this appeal will go directly to the Todd family.

First, a memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 10, 2021 in Montgomery, Alabama. (This date may change depending on the arrival of relatives from Kenya-updates will be provided). Then the family plans to place a plaque at the gravesite of Brandon’s grandparents at the Coosa Cemetery. The plaque will be a place where friends and family can visit Brandon in the United States. Brandon did not get to meet Ralph Todd, his paternal grandfather, in this life but had fond memories of Ellen Marie, his paternal grandmother.

Finally, the family plans to transport Brandon’s body to Kenya for burial. In 2017, Brandon made his way to Kenya, the birth country of his mother. Kenya made a big impression on Brandon and on returning to Alabama, he talked about moving there to live with his maternal grandparents, uncle and aunts and large extended family. Tommy, Caroline and John are trying to grant Brandon this wish by sending him for burial in western Kenya near his mother’s ancestral home.

Brandon is survived by Tommy (father), Caroline (mother), John (brother), Joi (daughter), Joi’s two half-sisters, Kenneth (maternal grandfather), Ruth (maternal grandmother), aunts, uncles, cousins both in the United States and Kenya. He is preceded in death by Ralph (paternal grandfather) and Ellen Marie (paternal grandmother).

Those close to the Todd and Owuor families know that they have reacted to this tragedy by leaning even more heavily on God, professing their faith and trust in Him as they face this dark time.

Many of you have already reached out to the family with words of condolence and encouragement. I urge you, to the extent you are able, to assist them with burial expenses.

Thank you and God bless you.
