Brandon Unger: help Sky beat cancer

I'm not quite sure where to start. My brother is in a difficult place right now. Those that know him know that Sky, his beautiful, affectionate, gentle, spunky dog is the light of his life.

Sky was recently diagnosed with cancer.

She has been part of Brandon's life for nearly a decade, and during that time, she has watched him graduate from college, follow one of his dream career paths, purchase his first home, and propose to his fiancé. Through everything, Sky has been the epitome of love, loyalty, and companionship in Brandon's life.

Brandon is determined to give Sky a fighting chance to live out her golden years as happily and healthily as she can. On Wednesday, 4/24/24, Sky is scheduled for a procedure to remove the cancer from her tongue. The recovery includes feeding tube and will be physically, emotionally, and financially draining.

Despite her diagnosis, Sky's primary veterinarian and oncologist are optimistic about her prognosis. With the right treatment, Sky could enjoy her remaining years cancer-free and as the sweet, loving, silly land hippo that she has always been.

The cost of Sky's medical care is substantial. Between preliminary testing, surgery, and potential ongoing treatment, the financial burden will be (and has already begun to be) overwhelming.
