Brandy Hooker's legal aid to protect her family

On august 6th my long time friend Brandy was served with devastating news that the biological father of her two children has sued for full custody. Anyone that knows Brandy's struggle, knows how ridiculous this bid for custody is, as his treatment of Brandy and her two children have been abhorrent over the years. She has legal records going back years, to the birth of her second son in August of 2016, of his mistreatment, abandonment, and abuse. After leaving the abusive situation, she tried to put the past aside and allowed visitation until the children asked not to go back earlier this year, now she has to put her evidence and courage to use to win this jarring legal battle.

To navigate this trial Brandy needs an attorney by October 3rd, someone trusted and recommended to her by friends and family. This fundraiser is for the attorney and other legal costs saddling a single mother of two. While we are confident courts will acknowledge the cycles of abuse and the children will remain safe, every precaution must be taken to ensure a happy and fulfilling life away from their family's abuser.
