Brandy Salita - Starke Co. EMS Paramedic
Donation protected
Brandy Salita, a dedicated paramedic and single mother of three about to begin her final semester of nursing school, was on duty, actively responding to a call with Starke County EMS on August 5, 2023, when the ambulance was struck by another vehicle.
She was transported immediately to Northwest Health LaPorte Hospital and then transferred to Memorial Hospital of South Bend to be further evaluated.
Brandy has suffered a bone-deep laceration to her head as well as three fractured cervical vertebrae, all of which have required surgeries from specialists to repair.
At this time, doctors estimate that she will be out of work for a minimum of three months, with an even longer road of healing extending beyond that.
All donations will go straight to Brandy to be used to help bridge the gap with life expenses while she is unable to work.
Donations may also be sent via Venmo: @Brandy-Salita
