Branning Family Medical Expenses

The Honesdale Wrestling family has created a Go Fund Me Page for former Honesdale wrestler Mark Branning and his wife Brittany. Their newborn son has been dealing with very serious heart issues and is currently hospitalized at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Here’s Baby Beau’s Story:

Beau Jameson Branning was born on 10/26/22 at 1:46 PM. Within hours after his birth, Beau was diagnosed with a critical congenital heart defect that would require open heart surgery, he also had a birth defect called an Omphalocele where some of this intestines were in his umbilical cord. He was whisked off to CHOP to await surgery. Beau underwent open heart surgery on 10/31- his mommy’s birthday. He did extremely well. Before we knew it we were on a step down unit talking about home.

A few days later, Beau was having some difficulty breathing and we found out that part of his heart surgery didn’t work and he needed another surgery to fix his pulmonary artery and his omphalocele. That would provide us some time for him to grow and then eventually have another surgery to fix his heart. He recovered from the second surgery (pulmonary artery) with some bumps but overall came out on top. On November 20th, we were able to take Beau home for the first time.

We had an amazing almost 2 months at home! On January 10th, we went for a monthly cardiologist appointment and found out our little man was in heart failure. We were on our way back to CHOP for more answers. It was found out that the surgery to fix the pulmonary artery didn’t buy us as much time as everyone had hoped and Beau underwent his second open surgery on January 24th. He is recovering well from that but he is struggling with some lung issues and possible more heart issues. We have yet to determine the cause of the current issue.
