Braxton Bell medical assistance

On December 18th we received one of the worse phone calls that our son was missing. Braxton had gone out on the dessert with a friend just being boys and shooting guns. Braxton and his friend ended up getting separated from each other. A search party was sent out to look for him. Friends, family, search and rescue searched for him all night with no luck. But that didn't stop his loved ones from stopping. Everyone continued to search for him and was found the next morning, Tuesday December 19th. He was barely alive but thank God he was alive!! He was rushed to Madison Memorial hospital where he was assessed and then transported emergently to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center where they were able to get him stable and assess him further. Braxton has frostbite to both of his feet and had damage to his trachea that was causing air to leak into his chest cavity. After 3 days in the ICU burn unit they let Braxton go home!! However his journey of recovery is just starting. Braxton will be needing surgery on his feet from the frostbite where they will remove the dead tissue and then do skin grafts. After that Braxton has about another month or two of wound care. Braxton unfortunately does not have health insurance and due to the extensive wound care and surgery he will be unable to work during those times as well. We know that with everything that has happened and the recovery these medical bills, which may possibly be over $100,000, are going to be very overwhelming for Braxton. We would like to help him out anyway that we can. We are so very grateful for all of the love and support from family, friends, and the community and we hope for a speedy recovery!!
