Brayden Bafaro Cancer Care Fund

Donation protected
We are raising money to help a neighbor's family with a specific request. Their son Brayden is fighting a cancer battle, and the family has a clear ask for a bed that can raise their son's head and feet. Why, you ask, don’t they get a hospital bed? When talking with Brayden’s mother, she has stated that many mornings when she checks in on Brayden, she finds one or more of Brayden’s brothers sleeping in the same bed with him. She said the boys watch movies, play video games, and just talk but fall asleep before heading to their beds. They are looking for something big enough to hold at least two boys over 6 feet tall!

A Little About Brayden's Cancer Journey

Brayden is from Hillsboro, Oregon and up until his diagnosis, he had been finishing college in Oklahoma with hopes of becoming a teacher. He is the middle child of two brothers and loves spending his summers with them at his grandparent's cabin in Montana, riding dirt bikes, fishing, and making huckleberry milkshakes. On July 13, 2021–23-year-old Brayden took himself to an ER in Oklahoma for debilitating back pain. A week later, he was diagnosed with Stage IIIC germ cell cancer that had spread to his lungs, lymph nodes and spine.
After several rounds of chemotherapy and two stem cell transplants, the results from his last scan were gut-wrenching. But the family is not losing hope! His oncologist continues to, in her words, “look under every rock”! The family is sending out emails and making phone calls to institutions around the country! In the meantime, they are removing Brayden’s tri-fusion catheter so that they can check off some things on Brayden’s bucket list. Brayden’s dream is to become a high school history teacher and coach baseball. He is just shy of a class or two, and his student teaching to reach this goal. Cancer has put those dreams on hold so the family is hoping for him to experience some history in person through a trip or two!
Now more than ever, Brayden needs prayers. Prayers for healing and comfort. Prayers for strength for the rest of the family. As neighbors and friends, we do know that we continue to be inspired by Brayden’s and his families' amazing spirit and strength.

The family will greatly appreciate your help in supporting this request.
