Brayden’s Heart Journey

As many of you know, Brayden was born with a heart condition in which he has had multiple surgeries. Although he has been blessed to live a pretty normal life, the past 6 months have been challenging for him & his family.

This past November he had a 15 hour heart surgery & has now had several more in the past 3 weeks from complications. Brayden is currently on a medical device pumping his heart (Berlin heart) and can’t leave the hospital until he gets a transplant. He currently has an infection and has to wait until it is gone to be put back on the transplant list. He has been in the ICU since the beginning of May. While this has been a difficult journey for Brayden, he remains such a positive, brave, courageous & strong young man. However it has also been an emotional whirlwind the past few weeks for Michelle, John & Aubrey as well as extended family, friends & the community. 

While this is not something the Otten family has requested, we (Michelle’s sister Jessica, brother-in-law Tom and friend Denise) wanted to assist in any way possible, even helping with any financial burden that will eventually come as a result. The amount of prayers, positive thoughts, food, helping with Aubrey & calls/texts have been nothing short of incredible. The Wyoming community & our friends & family are truly a blessing. If it is within your means to donate we are so very appreciative but we are happy & blessed to take your continued prayers & positive thoughts as well.

We believe that Brayden The Fearless will conquer this battle. His care team, Doctors & all those who oversee him at Childrens in Cincinnati are truly the best in the World & we are so thankful he’s under their care.
