Break Generational Poverty in India-Shanti Bhavan

Tax deductible
This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at Shanti Bhavan, an organization dedicated to empowering children from India's lowest socio-economic class. Shanti Bhavan's mission revolves around breaking the cycle of generational poverty through education, leadership, and compassion.

In India, the caste system has persisted for thousands of years, and many of the children at Shanti Bhavan belong to the lowest caste, often referred to as the untouchables or the "Dalit" caste.

Each child at Shanti Bhavan receives 17 years of educational intervention, boarding and any necessities the child may need, starting at the age of four and continuing until they graduate from college and enter the workforce. This commitment ensures that these children can compete in the global marketplace based on their own merit, leveling the playing field and offering them a chance at a brighter future.

During my month-long volunteer experience, I witnessed firsthand the transformative impact of Shanti Bhavan. The organization provides a safe haven for these children, who often come from dire situations, with families earning just $2.00 a day.

I had the privilege of teaching daily classes and participating in their physical education activities. Each child left a forever mark on my heart, and I came to appreciate the stark contrast between my life and theirs, realizing how much I had taken for granted.

Now, I am reaching out to you, our incredible community, to join me in supporting Shanti Bhavan. Your contribution will make a tangible difference in the lives of these children, helping to break the chains of generational poverty and giving them the tools they need to thrive.

Let's come together and make a lasting impact. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to providing these children with the education and opportunities they deserve.

If you're curious to learn more about this incredible organization and the profound impact it has on the children and their families, check out the enlightening Netflix documentary titled "Daughters of Destiny" for an in-depth exploration of the organization.

Thank you for being a part of this journey and for making a positive change in the world.
