Breakfast Jam is a dance and culture development social initiative, centred on breaking (breakdance) while housing hiphop culture, music, dance, multi-arts, urban lifestyle, innovative fashion, creativity and the fusion of hiphop with African traditional elements to offer a unique cultural experience.

Started from Kampala - Uganda in 2011, this extraordinary and neutral initiative brings together people with outstanding talents and capabilities for a cause. We are envisioning a cause that will bring-out and promote breakers from Africa with their unique styles, traditional influence, creativity and craftmanship. We work towards building skills and establishing bridges that increase the integration and connection of African breakers within the continent and with the rest of the world.

2024 BREAK-FAST JAM festival is a celebration of a journey we have been on for 10 years. The festival will take place from 18th until 24th November in Kampala - Uganda, through activities that raise awareness about dance and culture, bring dance to young people (children, teenagers, youth), bridge gaps between people from various backgrounds, stimulate participation of girls & women in hiphop, unite young people from village & urban areas, educate young people about financial sustainability, support emerging hiphop centred businesses, create a platform to exhibit battling and performing capabilities, foster artistic exchanges and more.
Activities will include; workshops, master-classes, talks & seminars, school outreaches, ghettos/slums outreaches, dances battles, performances & showcases, graffiti, markets, exhibitions and many more.

The Breakfast Jam has become a cultural mainstream event, attracting people from outside the Hip Hop and Breakdance bubble. The event is family friendly and gives children room for participation in the program.
To make a quality competition event on an international level it takes international supporters. The Breakfast Jam is open to new collaborations, partnerships and sponsors.
