Break the Silence at the Afton 50K Trail Race
Tax deductible
Join me in making a difference for all athletes struggling with disordered eating and anorexia/bulemia! I'm raising money to benefit Running In Silence, a non-profit that helps to prevent eating disorders through outreach and education provided to coaches and their althetes. This is an enormous, often hidden struggle for many of us, and your generous contribution will serve to make a huge impact in the lives of many women and men wrestling with these issues nationwide.
On July 2, 2022 I will be running the Afton 50K Trail Race representing Running In Silence for all those who are suffering in silence. May they have the courage to continue to fight and win over eating disorders, which ruin athletes' careers, their health, and even their lives. Join me in the fight!

Book: "Running in Silence: My Drive for Perfection and the Eating Disorder That Fed It" by Rachael Steil
December 16, 2012 was the day Rachael stopped running in silence. It was the day she wrote the first blog post on this website about dealing with anorexia and binge eating as an All-American runner and shared it with the world. Writing her truth invited others to share their eating disorder experiences. Rachael began to see how many athletes dealt with these issues behind closed doors–in secrecy and in shame–and it made her feel less alone. It also fueled the fire to speak louder about eating disorder experiences and ask, now what? Now, we share our stories to raise awareness, break down the misconceptions and stigma, and learn what steps to take to help those running in silence. Now, we create change.
