Support Breanna's Battle

Donation protected

It has been some time since our last official update here on the Breanna's Battle gofundme page.  As some of you may know, Breanna's leukemia has thought to be in remission part way into her initial chemotherapy treatments.  The physicians at Mac determined it would be best to finish the original four rounds of chemo as the type of cancer that Bre has is particularly aggressive.   After completing her last round and awaiting the all clear from her medical team, the unthinkable happened- the cancer cells have returned and Breanna is no longer in remission.
Breanna has started her fifth round of chemotherapy and it is hammering her young body.  Each round is harder on her than the last and the side effects are worsening.  The current plan is to continue chemotherapy and to seek out a bone marrow transplant.
While Breanna continues her treatment, the expenses continue to add up.  The bone marrow transplant will be done in Toronto at Sick Kids Hospital and will require Bre and her family to reside there for some time.  Please consider donating to help her family offset some of the many expenses incurred while Breanna undergoes treatment.  They have many, many things to worry about and finances should not be one of them.  As always, your prayers, love and support mean the world to Bre and her family.  Let's send all the positivity we can to help Bre beat this!

Eight-year-old Breanna Rego is in for the fight of her life. Only a couple short weeks ago, young Breanna, an otherwise healthy third-grade student at Preston Public School in Cambridge, Ontario was diagnosed with AML (acute myeloid leukemia).  Currently an inpatient at McMaster Children's Hospital in Hamilton, Breanna has already begun a series of aggressive chemotherapy treatments.  It comes as no surprise that the chemotherapy drugs designed to rid Breanna of the rapidly progressing cancer are very hard on her young body.  Further testing is underway to determine the specific subtype of cancer present in Breanna's body to ensure that the most effective treatment protocol is in place.

Breanna's parents Cassy and Greg are doing everything they can to be by Brianna's side as they navigate through the treatment and testing.  While they wait for a room at nearby Ronald McDonald House to become available they are commuting 40 minutes each way just to shower and have a much-needed break.  On top of everything, Cassy is expecting another child in the fall, a sibling for Breanna, and has been unable to work since learning of Breanna's diagnosis.

This family needs your help.  Gas, parking, food and other incidental expenses are adding up quickly.  All of the money raised will go directly to help offset the many expenses associated with supporting this young family while brave Breanna battles cancer.

Prayers, positive thoughts and support are greatly appreciated by Breanna and her family.  Updates to Breanna's journey will be posted here as often as possible.

Thank you in advance for your support.
