Christiana Afful is a 43 year old widow, a mother of 2. Her son has finished High school and her daughter has just began High school. Christiana and her kids live on the outskirts of Accra, the capital of Ghana.
This campaign is raising funds for Christiana because in addition to the pain and difficult circumstances she faces as a single mother, she unfortunately has just been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Life has been really difficult for this family. Most people in Ghana do not have the life insurance systems we have in America. And so, when the bread winner dies, the family members left behind become miserable and really struggle a lot to survive. This family has indeed struggled.
It therefore came as a great relief to Christiana and children when about 10 years ago, the Opoku Boateng family, a California based family adopted Christiana and her children out of the goodness of their hearts. This family has supported their adoptive family in diverse ways. They for instance are sponsoring the two children in their upkeep at school ever since. The girl currently is in boarding High school and is doing very well academically and socially. Whilst the boy after High school is considering what to do next. The family had begun to smile again when just a month ago Christiana was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. This is indeed very bad news.
Christiana had been scheduled to begin Chemotherapy Sessions at the Korle Bu teaching hospital in Accra as from June 15th, 2020, but because she did not have all the needed money to pay for the treatment which in total with cost about $5,000, the treatment could not start.
Christiana’s adoptive parents, both retirees are doing all they can to assist with her but needs your immediate kind support to help save the life of this poor widow in need.
The family honestly cannot on their own provide the needed support of $5,000
Links To Hope, a California based 501(c) 3 nonprofit together with the family has launched this Save the Life of Christiana Afful campaign with the sole aim of assisting her to pay for her medical bills.
Any money raised will go directly to pay for the treatment of Christiana Afful.
