Breast Cancer Room at Leighton Hospital

As many of my beautiful friends and family know I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the end of July this year, I am braca 2 positive and during my yearly screening of a MRI and mammogram I was unfortunately called back in for further biopsies and testing. I can can honestly say from the testing to every appointment I have been to (that’s alot) over the past few months the care and compassion from Leighton hospital has been amazing especially from my consultant and MacMillan breast care team especially Gill and Laura who are just real life heroes.

so I found out in clinic at the end of July my diagnosis the words echoed around me and my husbands heads I was numb I felt physically sick we couldn’t take this in, I walked out of the room with my knees buckled and so upset my beautiful MacMillan nurse ran up the corridor to find a vacant private room which she did find to give us more time to gather ourselves ….

This has made me think so much over the last few weeks of how I can help give something back to help anyone else in my position as they will be having a private area in the next few months and I want to raise money to help them make it a comfortable area with comfy seating, pictures, just a lovely more warming environment.

I have been looked after like a princess from this team after my double masectomy with along way to go but please help me raise money with my next step on Monday 16th October I will be having my hair shaved in preparation of my chemo starting on the 20th October and if long enough when Kirsten cuts it I will also donate my plaits to the little princess trust .

Please share and help me to help any ladies unfortunate enough to get diagnosed with breast cancer at our local hospital .
