Brenda Di Vito Brain Surgery #9

Brenda Di Vito is a selfless and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and mother in law that was dealt a terrible hand she did not deserve. In 2000, Brenda was diagnosed with aggressive brain tumors, called atypical Meningiomas, requiring surgery over the past two decades.

I met Brenda in 2014 when I first started dating my now wife, and from the second I got to know her, she was one of a kind. She was determined to drink a bottle of wine that first night to “intimidate” me, and ever since then, her humor and overall amazingly positive attitude have grown our bond closer. I can speak for all others in her life that would agree there is no one out there quite like Brenda, and her ailments are never noticeable to anyone unless you see her shaved head and scars following surgery.

The average brain surgery costs anywhere from $15,000-$30,000. Since 2000, Brenda has had eight surgeries. Four of those surgeries have come within the last five years. She has endured close to a lifetime's limit of radiation therapy and six rounds of chemotherapy.

Since knowing the Di Vitos, they have never asked for anything. Not a single handout, help, or to have their situation fixed. They tell no one about Brenda’s tumors because they never want “disability” to be a word anyone considers. They have not asked for this either, but it’s time to help those that continually help others. They are private people and never ones to ask for help, so I am doing this on their behalf.
