Brenda Haggerty Cancer Fund

Our friend, Brenda Haggerty, is fighting a battle she never expected.  This has been continuous since February 14, 2015.  Brenda lives in Statesville, NC where she is employed as a caregiver.  She is an outgoing person who takes pride in maintaining her modest home and yard.  She is divorced with two grown sons and three grandchildren, none of whom is finacially able to help her.

After a period of not feeling well, she went to Urgent Care.  After tests and scans, it was determined that she had cancer in her left lung.  Following a series of chemotherapy and radiation, tests revealed that the treatment had been successful.

However, this reprieve was short-lived.  Follow-up tests revealed a new caner in the right side of her brain.  Thus began a new round of chemotherapy and radiation.  As this series of treatment progressed, tests showed the cancer to be shrinking.  This was news that was very encouraging.

But, again, the good news was very short-lived.  On the last day of her chemotherapy, she went for an MRI which revealed yet another cancer.  This time in the left side of her brain near the ear.  This one has been determined to be fast growing and has affected her hearing and balance.  Now she is facing a third round of chemotherapy and radiation.

The completion of two rounds of treatments and now facing a third has been and continues to be a financial burden.  With limited insurance coverage and high co-pays, her medical bills continue to grow.  Her medical bills have reached a sum of $167,000 and continue to increase.

Please share Brenda's story and any help you can give along with your prayers would be very much appreciated.  Three cancer diagnoses and treatments should not be faced alone.
