Brenda Horne needs your help!

My sister in law Brenda needs our help! She had a bad fall at her home on Father’s Day and is currently incapacitated and will be for quite some time. She fell down a flight of stairs taking out a banister on the way down and landing on her head. She is lucky to be alive! She managed to fracture her L3, L4 and L5 in the process. She also fractured a hip and chipped a piece of bone off her hip. She is in a lot of pain right now and has a long road ahead of her to a full recovery. You may be wondering how you can help…

Brenda and her husband Jim live in a two story home. The problem is that both bedrooms and the only bathroom are all upstairs. Brenda will be in need of physical therapy and it will be quite some time before she can once again climb a set of stairs. In order for Brenda to be able to go home, she will need a bedroom and bathroom on the main floor of their home. There is an extra room with space available, but there is a need for major renovations of the house in order for her to go back home when she is ready. We all know how expensive everything is right now. Building materials are no exception.

For those of you who don’t know, Brenda is a giver. She doesn’t want to ask for help but she and Jim could use a hand on this large and unexpected expense. Brenda and Jim provide for dozens of veterans all year long. They cook and deliver meals and gifts for these veterans for every holiday on the calendar. She goes above and beyond to make these veterans feel loved and appreciated and it’s time that we do the same for her.
