Brenda Shelbourne

We’re all incredibly proud to have called this legend of a woman our Mum, Gran, Mother-in-Law and Great Gran

She may have ended her life looking all too frail and weak, but don’t be fooled she was strong as an ox, twice as chatty, kind and generous, and at times hilarious (even if she didn’t mean to be!) Brenda Shelbourne passed away peacefully, aged 86, on 9th May 2024. She’ll be very much missed, but she would have agreed that it was her time if she could have done and she’s now off to see Grandad and Uncle G, and get things in order elsewhere

Brenda’s funeral will be held on Thursday 6th June at Mansfield Crematorium. We will be having family flowers only, and asking for donations towards a local charity that Brenda herself helped to set up many years ago.

The Hucknall and District Voluntary Partnership, known to most as the Under One Roof project, is a local hub housing a number of community resources, including a food bank, cafe and furniture project.

Brenda gave everything to her local community and her family, and we felt supporting UOR (as she called it!) was a fitting tribute.
