Please Help My Mom and Stepfather Rebuild After Devastating House Fire
Two days ago, my mother and stepfather lost everything in a tragic house fire.
My mom has been bravely recovering from her second round of cancer treatment. She’s living with only a lung and a half and relies on oxygen to breathe. The trauma of this fire has been especially hard on her, both mentally/emotionally and physically.
My stepfather is currently in the hospital after suffering severe smoke inhalation. He risked his life trying to save as many of their beloved pets as he could. Thanks to his heroic efforts, their three dogs made it out alive. Heartbreakingly, they lost two hamsters, a snake, and two bearded dragons in the fire.
The house is a total loss. Nothing could be saved. A lifetime of memories, keepsakes, and everything they owned—gone in a matter of minutes.
They have been provided temporary housing by the Red Cross for the next few days, but after that, they will be on their own with nothing. No home, no belongings, and no resources to fall back on.
We are asking for help to get them back on their feet. Anything you can give will go directly toward helping them with immediate needs like clothing, food, temporary shelter, and the long process of rebuilding their lives from the ground up.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this with others. Any contribution, no matter how small, helps more than you know—and we are endlessly grateful for the love and support we’ve already received.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
