Brendan Corsi

On January 2nd around 2am Brendan (23) had a cardiac arrest causing him to be unresponsive in the hospital. He got flown out to Madison to receive more appropriate care for the condition he is in. It was found that he has a rare heart defect that had caused him to go into cardiac arrest. During the time he went into cardiac arrest his brain received brain damage, although, it is unclear how much damage was done to the brain. He is currently unresponsive on life support and it is uncertain how long he will be in the hospital for. His family has been staying in hotel rooms down in Madison to be able to be there for him. Any funds raised are going completely towards his medical expenses, travel expenses, and time off work.

Please keep continuing to pray for Brendan as this is a hard time for everyone who knows how special he is.

UPDATE:

With our hearts heavy and broken into pieces we have decided to take the route for him to meet the lord. He is a strong individual with a great willpower but unfortunately he did not win this battle. His brain sustained great injury from the amount of time without oxygen. He is blind, can’t hear, can’t talk, can’t move his body in a purposeful way, and will never be able to sustain a livable life. His life would involve laying in bed with a tracheostomy and feeding tube and round the clock care in a facility. He is still on life support but he will be taken off. This process is going to take awhile as we have to wait for his body to let go. This is hard news to hear for all of us. The one question that we have all been asked is what would Brendan want. Brendan would not want to live like that although we selfishly would want him to. This decision is heart wrenching and absolutely devastating. Our hearts go out to the people who reached out, donated, and prayed for our Brendan. Brendan has touch many of our souls deeply and was such an inspiration to the way we should look at life.

This gofundme is now changed to help with the funeral costs and burial. No parent should ever have to go through planning a funeral for their own child and should not have to worry about how will they cover it.

Please keep continuing to pray for the loved ones in his life because this is an absolutely tragedy.

In honor of Brendan we ask that tomorrow everyone has a smile on their face and share stories about his beloved soul.

UPDATE:

Unfortunately Brendan met the lord yesterday, January 17th at 6:49am. We are heartbroken that his beautiful life ended so soon. He passed away peacefully without any pain which is something we are blessed with. He is now in a beautiful place looking down on us all. Like I mentioned above, we were asked “what would Brendan want?” I know that Brendan would want us to move forward with our lives in honor of the beautiful soul he had. I know that he would think it’s okay to grieve this tragic loss but he would not want it to take over our lives. He was an amazing human and now an ever better angel waiting for us to see that smiling face again. If love could’ve saved him, he would’ve lived forever.

Until we meet again Bren. We will all forever miss you❤️

LAST UPDATE:

Brendan’s funeral is going to be Friday, January 26th, from 1-4 at Erickson-Rochon and Nash. We are having a visitation with pizza from dominoes because Brendan would love that. Everyone is welcome as we know Bren has touched an abundance of people in his short lived time.
