Brendan Schmidt, 2024 season, 2028 Olympic hopeful

Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Brendan Schmidt, and I am embarking on an exciting journey to enter professional beach volleyball & pursue its highest levels. Help me pursue my ultimate goal: Los Angeles Summer Olympics 2028. With your generosity I can pursue this goal rigorously & maximize my potential by competing on a full competition schedule this season (2024). Donations will be used to offset the cost of preparation, competition, travel, etc.

At 29 years old, with a background in indoor volleyball, I am now setting my sights on conquering the sands and making a mark in this exhilarating sport.

For the past 18 months, I have dedicated myself to transitioning my game from the indoor courts to the beach. It's been a challenging yet immensely rewarding process. I believe with my indoor volleyball experience, training for the Olympics, playing professionally overseas, my height (standing at 6’9”) and skill set, I have the potential to dominate in this arena.

My journey in volleyball began with the inaugural McKendree men’s volleyball team from 2013 to 2018, where I had the privilege of setting school records in blocks and blocks per set, while also placing on all-time leaderboards in other statistical categories as well.

Following my graduation in May 2018, I had the honor of representing the USA Volleyball team from 2018 to 2019, as well as competing professionally across Europe in countries like Romania, Germany, and Spain.

Since 2020, I have been immersing myself in coaching, both at the collegiate level and with individual athletes, all while diligently preparing myself for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead in my own competitive journey.

Looking forward, beach volleyball is poised to soar in popularity and engagement over the next five years! Especially in regards to beach volleyball in the United States with the 2028 Summer Olympics set to take place in Los Angeles!

For me, this journey kicks off in May 2024 with the AVP Huntington Qualification Tournament—a pivotal moment that marks the beginning of a new chapter in my career.

However, as with any pursuit of excellence, competitions and preparations come with costs. That's why I'm reaching out to all of you who may be interested in supporting me on this journey.
