Brendan Walsh Motorcycle Accident
Donation protected
On April 13, 2023, Brendan Walsh was going about his day off like most teachers do while on spring break, enjoying the beautiful spring weather riding his Indian Springfield Dark Horse Motorcycle, when he was struck by a vehicle that made an illegal turn on Hicksville Road in Bethpage and critically injured. Brendan was transported to Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC). Brendan sustained multiple injuries and broken bones. He has to undergo an intensive leg surgery to repair his shattered tibia and fibula bones, torn Achilles tendon with potential additional surgeries the next few days. In addition he has muscle fragments traveling through his blood with concerns for kidney failure. Brendan has a long road to recovery ahead as the extent of all his injuries are still unknown. His beautiful wife Gina was able to see him for a brief moment at the hospital. His two young children, Liam and Charlee are scared and worried and want their daddy to come home soon! Everyone is impatiently waiting at home for any news.
For those of you who know Brendan, you know the big muscle guy with tattoos. If he’s not teaching health & physical education, you’ll find him at the gym, riding his Indian motorcycle, or spending time with his kids at the park or ball field. The family man who puts his family first and is the true definition of an incredible father and amazing husband! Brendan is the hardest working, most helpful individual. He is the first person to lend a hand to help absolutely anyone and the last person to ask for help himself. This very unfortunate situation has been difficult on Gina, Liam and Charlee and the rest of the DeTillio and Walsh families. We know these are tough times for all, but in tough times we find great people and every dollar counts! So we ask our closest friends, families, and the strong Plainedge community we are known to be to come together and help raise any generous donation we can to help cover extensive medical bills, the loss of time at work, and help support every day expenses to Gina and their incredible children, Liam and Charlee. Prognosis is that he’ll be out of work 8-12 weeks and much of that is unknown!
Thank you in advance for opening your hearts and all the continued prayers!!
