Hello to everyone, it has been a while, The dream is still alive.

We had a successful fundraiser coming up on 2 years ago where we had skateboards and other prizes donated by Darkside snowboards. It was an awesome day of skating and barbecuing with family and friends of Brendon. Here are a few photos from the day…

As for the future Springfield Vermont is in need of an updated skatepark for the community. The surrounding towns of Brattleboro, Manchester, Ludlow, Bennington, Warren, Waterbury, Burlington, even right over the river in West Lebanon, NH and Keene, NH. All Have one thing in common. That is beautifully sculpted concrete skateparks built in the recent years.

The Town of Springfield would benefit greatly from this in many ways, the most important being giving the youth something active and inspiring, all while building a community in a place where kids don’t have many options for fun. In the world today it is important to have inclusive outdoor places for kids to express themselves and just HAVE FUN. Build a nice skatepark and the people will come. Children and Adults.

This has been proven over and over again all across the country, and especially in New England. People from out of town, even out of state will travel,

bring themselves and their kids with the curiosity of a new, smooth (work of art) skatepark. It’s an exciting thought. If people traveling through the area know there is a great skatepark, they will stop, even if it’s a little out of the way. I know this because I’m a skater myself. And will travel all around New England and further, with the destination being great skateparks.

With Brendon Snide in our heart and mind, This is what he would have wanted. As for the next steps, We are still raising money for ANOTHER single Concrete obstacle.

We can try reaching out to The “Tony Hawk Foundation” for a grant. If the town of Springfield recognizes the dedication, we keep pushing letting them know we’re still here, and keep fundraising for a second obstacle. Maybe some day they will see the potential for a beautiful brand new skatepark that will last longer than the previous one. Let’s keep trying. We are in phase 2 !!

Our fundraising has been recognized by the town of Springfield and the park was officially renamed “Snide Memorial Skatepark.”

$15,000 is the goal to build more obstacles by Spring time.

Brendon was a dear friend to us all and a truly unique human being with a heart of gold. The world was forever changed the day that he left us. It will never be the same. For anyone who interacted with this young man, they have a story about the impact he left on their life. He always wanted to help but never wanted to be a burden. That's just who he was. Brendon was a kind and empathetic person who was the best friend I could ever ask for. Im sure there are many out there who would say the same thing. How we choose to remember or memorialize people shapes the future so we must be intentional about this.

In addition to being a choice human being, Brendon was also an extremely talented Skater and Snowboarder. With this fundraiser, we hope to make improvements to the Springfield Skatepark and rename it in his honor "Snide Memorial Skatepark". The Springfield Skatepark was Brendon's stomping grounds, and the park could benefit from improvements and it seems apt to leave a mark in his name so that his legacy is not forgotten.
