Brenna Ann Haase beloved mother, friend, and voice ❤️

Brenna-Ann Haase, aged 45, passed away suddenly on the morning of October 30, 2024, in Forked River, NJ. Born on November 17, 1978, in Jersey City, Brenna-Ann was a dedicated mother, passionate educator, and a fervent advocate for those battling addiction. Brenna-Ann’s journey in education began at Hasbrouke Heights High School, followed by further studies at Stockton University. She channeled her love for English into a career as an English teacher before devoting her life to addiction counseling. As a peer coordinator, she worked tirelessly to support and mentor individuals struggling with addiction, embodying her belief in the power of community and support.

Outside of her professional life, Brenna-Ann was wholly devoted to her daughter, Gianna Grace DeFeo. Her role as a mother was paramount, and she cherished every moment spent with Gianna. Brenna-Ann’s outspoken nature and immense heart left a lasting impact on all who knew her, advocating relentlessly to help those in need when they did not know how to help themselves. Brenna’s heartfelt voice always was determined to fight for what she believed was right.

Brenna-Ann is survived by her daughter Gianna Grace DeFeo and Gianna’s father, Donny DeFeo; her mother, Donna Haase; brothers, Bryan and Craig Haase; and uncle, Tommy Crandall. She was preceded in death by her father, Roger Haase, and her grandparents, Alice and Joe Cinquino, as well as Olga and Robert Crandall.

Services to celebrate Brenna-Ann’s life were held at Layton’s Home for Funerals on November 7th. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support visitation and memorial services through the provided GoFundMe link:


Brenna-Ann’s life and legacy will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and community, and her courageous fight for those in need.

Please help us to remember and celebrate Brenna the way she deserves to be. Closed cremation services will be performed at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River, NJ. A garden and urn grave will be arranged and keepsake momentos can be requested. Brenna’s ashes will be transported to and kept by her daughter Gianna.

Brenna has touched so many lives throughout her career and personal life and she would be honored and overjoyed by the kindness and generosity of Everyone who has made a donation to make her farewell possible and memorable. Our entire family are forever grateful and appreciative .
