Brent Casey Ledford, 42, of Davidson, NC, sadly left us all too early on July 6, 2023.

The Ion Carbon & Minerals team is a small yet close-knit family. As such, the Ion team has established this memorial education fund for Brent's 9-year old daughter (his only child), Everly Reese Ledford, who was the light of his life.

Brent entered this world on August 22, 1980, and grew up in London, KY where he met his true love, Jennifer. The high school sweethearts later married in 2004 at their favorite vacation spot of Marco Island, FL. Their family grew to three in 2014 when they welcomed their daughter, Everly Reese. Brent was a loving father and husband, ensuring his family was provided for while making the most of every moment of their lives. As a parent, Brent shared his competitiveness with Everly and some of his most fond memories were watching her play tennis, taking her to CrossFit competitions across America, and enjoying their time together.

Professionally, Brent’s roots in Eastern Kentucky set him up for success in the mineral industry where he had worked for Ion Carbon / AMCI since 2013. He was well respected across the industry and appreciated for his creative thinking and innovative solutions while making lifelong friends.

Those who knew Brent quickly fell in love with him and appreciated his ability to light up a room. He never met a stranger, and his smile was contagious. From Sunday afternoon dinners to business meetings, there was never a dull moment when Brent was around. His innate nature to make everyone feel included and part of the narrative is a rare trait and one of Brent’s greatest legacies. Brent never took life too seriously and was always good for a lighthearted joke, famous movie quote, or musical recommendation.

Brent’s impact during his 42 years on earth is immeasurable and those fortunate enough to have known him will have a gap in their hearts that can never be replaced. We can all take solace in knowing Brent’s smile and open arms will welcome us in Heaven when the glorious day comes where we are fortunate enough to meet our Lord and Savior.

Brent is survived by his wife Jennifer Ledford, and daughter Everly Ledford, as well as his parents Paul and Vickie (Hopper) Ledford of London, KY. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Astor and Sallie Ledford of London, KY as well as Gilbert and Lorene Hopper of London, KY.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 12:30-2:00pm at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm.

Brent, you will forever be loved by those left behind and we will always miss you.
