The lives of many have been affected by this tragedy. Brenton Ray Kaufman was born on July 28, 2006, to parents Brad and Tracey Kaufman. Brenton was a student at West Holmes High School and he worked at Camp Toodik as a ground's keeper. Brenton enjoyed volunteering at a local animal rescue where he was greatly appreciated and loved for his hard work. Brenton could bring light to any dark room, He was the life of the party. The kid everyone dared to do something because chances were, he'd do it. Brenton loved to make others laugh and smile. He had a heart of gold. He will be deeply missed by his parents, his sister, grandparents, family, his closest friends, bonus families, girlfriend, and everyone who got the blessing of being touched by his presence. Brenton is and always will be unconditionally loved and forever in our hearts. As we know, no one ever expects for these things to happen. Many of you have reached out asking how you can help. The family, friends, and community first and foremost need prayers for understanding, peace, guidance, and love. Everyone's kindness is so much appreciated as everyone navigates and processes this heart-breaking tragedy. We kindly ask that if you are able, please donate funds towards the funeral services, final expenses, and the family needs. Jordan, Erikson, Mya, and Ashleigh want to raise enough money that they can get a headstone with Brenton and his truck engraved on it. Please help us make this happen for these heart-broken children. Brenton will live on. On behalf of the family, thank you all so much for your love, support, and prayers during this time.
BRENTON WALKS WITH JESUS
March 31, 2023, is a day that many will never forget. The last day of school for spring break at West Holmes. It was tractor day... Brenton won FIRST place and he was beyond excited about it too. If you knew Brenton, then you know he was the life of the party and loved to entertain. He was that boy that many kids at school were unkind to, but they didn't get the blessing of Brenton's endless love, genuine heart, kind soul, and amazing personality. As we mourn the loss of such a precious soul, we thank God for blessing us with Brenton. We have a lot of questions with no answers, but we also know we have a God that can do the impossible. God is in this story. You see, one of his best friends, Jordan Dennison went on this day by the grace of God due to a last-minute opening, to take his license test. He PASSED! Jordan was supposed to go with Brenton after school and so was Erikson, however, both boys had left school early for appointments. Justin was going to attend with Brenton later…Later that afternoon the boys met up in Killbuck waiting on Jordan, but Jordan had just got his license and was driving home so he didn't answer when they had called. They waited just up the street from our home. If we would have gotten home thirty minutes sooner, Mya, Erikson, Jordan, and Brenton all would have been in that truck. Erikson and Mya drove in front and Brenton followed to go to Mya's home. Brenton had a good day but after school he didn’t feel 100 percent however no one really thinks about it. They made sure he ate and he had went on about his day as always. On the way there they were about half a mile from Mya's house when Brenton passed out and the truck came over a little hill and hit a hole of water where it’s believed possibly his foot hit the gas indicating why his truck was going as fast as it was. That threw the truck out of control where he went left of center going off the road striking a mailbox and hitting a ditch. At that point is when Erikson and Mya heard a noise and Mya asked Erikson if he had just wrecked. They then turned to see all HELL break loose. It happened so fast but they are forever traumatized by the tragic loss. This is a tragic accident. Erikson and Mya immediately pulled over to get out and help. Erikson definitely ran to help but there was nothing he could do. Mya called her mother who immediately rushed to the scene. She rushed to Brenton to do all she could, but he had no pulse. Erikson immediately contacted Jordan and was obviously in complete and total distress. These kids saw their best friend/a boy who was like a brother lose his life.
An instant notification was sent out as a crash alert which also alerted Brenton's girlfriend Ashleigh. She immediately panicked, but the response she received will forever devastate her. These kids all fell to one another on this day. In today's world, there are cameras everywhere, pictures, and video calls. These kids have seen things they can't unsee. They were all in distress. They just went to one another and didn't know what to do. Thank God Mya's mom was nearby and able to be there with them in a hurry. I literally can not bare to imagine what these children feel, but I know God will see us through. In these same moments, Brenton's parents had gotten the call. Tracey called Brad Four times and as soon as he answered it was hammer time to get to their precious baby. They arrived at the scene and no one would let them get to their baby. All they wanted was for this to be a lie. At that moment, you think you can fix it, it will change, something anything a miracle, please. The one comment made was where is BRENTONS NARCAN? Why doesn't he get another chance? This is unfair and so many lives have been forever changed because of this tragedy. The coming days will be hard, but the coming weeks, months, and years without him are going to feel like an eternity. We would give anything to wake up from this nightmare that is so debilitating that even the thought of breathing is painful. The very thought of opening our eyes means we have to continue this nightmare. This is PURE HELL
We will bring awareness to every teenager in the world. Your Life Matters. We parents love you and want to keep you all safe but we want you to enjoy life too. Be kind love one another and always support eachother. Life is too short.. In a split second anything could happen. Brenton came up over and Erikson and Mya were in front of him. It all happened so fast…. The truck split into 4 pieces. We will spare the rest of the details. Erikson and Mya watched this but these two kids make me more than proud for their strength and the way they want to honor Brenton. These accidents can happen to any one of our children. This could have been any one of us. Never take a moment for granted. We would give anything to just end this horror movie.
brenton has brought many kids into our lives through this tragedy and for that we are all forever blessed. He brought a family forever together❤️❤️ boy made an impact that’s for sure
