Brentwood Estates Tornado Fund
Donation protected
I’m Crystal Brooks, my father Ronnie Brooks does the maintenance for Breentwood Estates and is a friend of the owner Ron Milner. I recently started to help with management of the mobile home park handling paperwork. I am a resident of Lynchburg as well, and on Sunday April 15th a powerful tornado touched down in Lynchburg, VA tearing through Brentwood Estates, a mobile home park located on Lakeside Drive. There was a massive amount of damage, some people with total loss of their home and all of their belongings. At this time there are seven families with no where to live who are staying in shelters. The Red Cross and several groups from the community including Thomas Road Baptist Church and Gleaming for the World have stepped in to help with the cleanup of the massive mess left behind after the storm. We are thankful there was no loss of life from the storm but there were several injured people taken to the emergency room.
Unfortunately the tenants did not have renters insurance and for those who owned their mobile homes the insurance doesn't cover damage do to tornado. On behalf of the owner and management of the park we would like to raise funds to distribute equally to those effected by the storm to help them find a place of residence and replace personal items lost in the storm. Once the campaign for funds is closed we will distribute 100% of the funds raised minus the fees taken by Go Fund Me to the seven families in form or check in hopes they will be able to put down a deposit on a new residence. Most of these families had very little to start with and now are left with nothing. We hope we will raise enough to help each family find a new place of residence.
Any help you can offer to these families will be very much appreciated.
