Brett B Hemphill

Donation protected
On October 4th beloved, Brett Hemphill, had passed away unexpectedly during a dive at Phantom Springs in Texas. Brett was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather with passions that ran deep.
We would like to give our family, friends, colleagues and dive community the opportunity to mourn and celebrate his life. We are asking for donations to cover funeral expenses, as well as to help organize a celebration of life to bring everyone together in his memory. Brett dedicated over 30 years to educating and inspiring exploration and protection of the Floridan Aquifer and springs, innovating equipment for the safety of other divers, and exploring, mapping, and filming many underwater cave systems. Brett entertained us all, sharing his love of music, performing in local rock and roll cover bands, musical theater selections for Heritage Art’s, Moonlight and Ivory, every time he stepped up to the karaoke stage, singing Drop of Jupiter and Sugar We’re Going Down. For over 30 years Brett worked in building services throughout Central Florida and could often be found hanging from Downtown Tampa’s skyscrapers, cleaning and caulking windows making him a familiar face to the Tampa Bay Area.
Information and details for funeral proceedings will be updated here or on Facebook as we navigate through this difficult time. Thank you for all of your kind words and prayers as we are so grateful for the support we have been receiving.
