Medical Help for Brett Grabosch

Donation protected

Hello Everyone. We are reaching out to ask for support for Brett Grabosch

On Saturday, Feb. 10th, 2024, Brett was involved in a freak snowmobile accident while riding in McCall, ID. His snowmobile rolled over and ended up sucking his arm into the track and wrapping it around the drivers. When his arm was eventually freed, Brett’s riding buddies were able to get him down the mountain and into the hands of search and rescue and then the local ER.

He suffered 8 major breaks in his arm and hand. The radius and ulna bones were both snapped in half and 2 metacarpals along with every finger except for his thumb were broken. There was also additional damage to ligaments, etc. He was sent home to wait for an appointment with an orthopedic doctor. On Sunday Brett experienced numbness, severe swelling and his fingers started turning purple. He checked back into the hospital where he found out he now needed emergency surgery, due to a very serious condition called Acute Compartment Syndrome, to relieve the extreme pressure and save his arm and hand. It took 3 surgeries over the next week to relieve the pressure and swelling. He was released with multiple plates and pins in his arm and hand and a large open wound, which spans his entire forearm. The wound is connected to a wound vac which will be a mainstay for weeks to come.

Brett has a very long, painful road ahead. Until he is able to undergo his fourth surgery (skin grafting to close his forearm) in March, he will make weekly trips to the wound clinic. Extensive occupational and physical therapy are also coming down the pipeline as well as necessary alternative therapies not covered by insurance. It is unknown if Brett will ever regain feeling and full use of his hand and arm. Further surgeries may be necessary.

We would love to help ease Brett's financial burden and stress as he, his fiance Haley, and his family, navigate this journey. This accident happened the month before his 26th birthday, so unfortunately, Brett will need to meet two maximum deductibles in the same year. As the doctors continue to find the best path to restore use and function to Brett’s arm and fingers, unknown expenses will arise as a result of the accident. Brett is a fighter and anyone that knows him knows that he is going to give it his all!

Thank you for any donation to support and show him our love and care. Sharing this page is also helpful. Prayers are welcome.
