Brett Nolan’s road to recovery
Back in January 2020, Brett Nolan fell off a 12.5 metre hay shed roof, in his hometown of Narrabri, NSW.
Brett is our good friend, son and brother, father to Hamish and Tom and husband to the awesome Tanya.
He suffered terrible injuries including a broken neck, back (spinal cord injury), sternum, hips, leg, ankles, foot and other nasty damage including a single broken toe!
Luckily Brett was not killed in the fall and his good humour, positive attitude and fighting spirit have remained strong throughout his recovery.
After the fall he was immediately airlifted to Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital where he spent three months in intensive care and spinal wards. Following numerous operations and a two months stay at Royal Rehab Clinic, Ryde, Brett has recently returned home to Narrabri.
Early days with lying at 30 degrees, with neck brace and trusty chopstick for itchy bits.

Brett is now in a wheelchair, so we wanted to raise some money to help with his mobility and independence. Along with covering additional costs towards his long term ongoing care.

For those that don't know Brett well, he is a typical country boy. He loves his family, rugby, beer and Black Doug cans, fishing and golf, his mates and his 4WD. (Which needs to be replaced with an auto and some hand controls)

Days before going home, Brett said
"Hey people so this is it, this is how I roll these days, not ideal but it's just the start of a new chapter in my life, no doubt there are going to be tough days, but here’s hoping they are few and far between, hope to be home soon and I’m looking forward to that day, can’t wait for a cold beer, sitting around a fire pit at home in Narrabri. It’s the little things "
