Brett's First Responders
Donation protected
When we lost our brother Brett, Todd (brother) and Kayla (myself, sister) wanted to start a foundation to honor our beloved brother. Brett was killed in an automobile accident on his way to work on April 4th, 2019.
Brett was an active community member in countless ways but most notably a 10 year veteran on the Swansea Fire Department and the Swansea Fire Department Explorers division. He was also very involved in the stock car racing family. Brett was Track Champion at Belle Clair Speedway in Belleville, IL in 2018.
Not only was Brett very active in our local community, he was also a family man. Brett got married to Alex Korves on October 17th, 2015. Brett left behind his wife Alex, their 2 year old son Brock, and now miracle baby Brett Grace Korves born on December 12, 2019. As heart breaking as it can be, Brett did not know Alex was pregnant with a little girl. Alex found out two weeks after the accident that she was expecting their second child.
Our vision is for Brett’s First Responders to help families of first responders who were not injured in the line of duty and develop a scholarship program for people seeking to become fire fighters. Our brother was very involved in many things and would help any person out at the drop of a hat.
We want to carry on his legacy by helping out others in our community. We began this foundation in December of 2019. Since we started the foundation we have already been able to donate $850 and thousands of helpful items including: food, clothes, diapers, laundry detergent, and more to the Crisis Nursery of St. Louis.
We are currently seeking a non for profit status in the State of Illinois.
We are looking for your help in the form of donations to get our charity started. The sooner we get started, the more good we can do in Brett's name.
