Brexit Justice

I’m fundraising to support Peter Cook, who seeks to reduce his losses from a systematic smear campaign against him over several years. Peter is a leading anti-Brexit / pro-EU campaigner and has done more than most to stand up to Brexit and its culture carriers. The organisation in question did this in order to cover up a more significant internal matter. One of the more petty assaults on Mr Cook was the failure to pay agreed expenses for his appearance at the Reading Festival. He had to take them to the small claims court in order to get paid. More recently, he lost a 2nd hearing on a technicality and has been forced to pay costs as further punishment and to hide the more fundamental misdemeanours. A full audit trail is available for inspection if required.
As a result, he seeks financial support to reduce his losses which break down as follows:
Recovering losses
Award made against Mr Cook £225.40
Costs of court case £109.00
Stretch target : Appeal against the judge and the judgement
Costs of N244 appeal £275.00
Legal costs (estimate) £600.00
Throughout the case, Mr Cook offered the organisation a way out of the matter, having written repeatedly to the CEO, various members of the House of Lords and others to no avail. Truth and fairness matter if we are to end Brexit and this whole exercise has severely damaged Mr Cook. Although the sums involved are small, the behaviours adopted by certain members are fundamentally the same as those seen in “Mr Bates v The Post Office”.
Peter plans to direct any recovered losses towards continued campaigning to “Break Brexit Before Brexit Breaks Britain”.
