Breya's fight with Osteosarcoma
Donation protected
Our sweet Breya girl one month ago at age 4 stopped being able to walk. Since then Breya has been to numerous doctors as they tried to figure out what was wrong with her. She has had blood drawn multiple times, a biopsy of her leg, and an MRI. This girl has been through hell and has stayed so strong and positive through it all so far. But her journey is not over. They found out this week that Breya has Osteosarcoma. Osteosarcoma is a rare bone cancer that causes tumors on the bone and the bone to weaken. We were hopeful that with chemo and potentially losing her limb that Breya could beat this, but the cancer has spread into her lungs, where there is a 10% chance that the treatment will work. While the percentage is not promising, Breya is a fighter and we are keeping hope that she is a unicorn and will be in the 10% . In order to eliminate some of the pain that she will have and slow down the progression, Breya has to go through an aggressive chemotherapy treatment at OHSU. Amanda and Breya will be traveling to Portland for the next 6 months for treatment. Scott and Kylee, Breya’s older sister, will be making frequent trips as well to be with them, while balancing work and school. So many of you have asked how you can help. While nothing you can do will help ease this family's pain and suffering and all the emotions they are going through, what we can help with is eliminating their worry about the expenses they will encounter. With Amanda in Portland a lot of the time, she will not be working, they are down to only Scott’s income. There will be extensive medical costs and travel expenditures that are going to add up quickly. We also want to provide everything to Breya that her heart desires to bring her as much joy as possible to keep that smile shining through the darkness. Please give what you have decided in your heart to give, and please share this out to others. Keep Breya, Scott, Amanda, and Kylee and the rest of the family in your prayers, they are going to need community to provide them strength in this journey.
With Love,
Breya’s family

Update 11/27/2023: It is with deep sorrow that I share news that Breya passed away on Thanksgiving. In memory of her beautiful soul, the funds raised will go to support her family with funeral/memorial expenses and other related costs. Your contributions will help ease the financial burden during this difficult time. Thank you for your kindness and support.
