Support the Brian Busby Memorial Scholarship

In accordance with Brian’s wishes, we are fundraising to open the Brian Busby Memorial Scholarship Fund to support students interested in raptor biology at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). Brian dedicated so much of himself to the study of these magnificent birds, and this scholarship will perpetuate his legacy. We are working with ESF to create this scholarship as soon as possible, but in the meantime, we are accepting donations here. Thank you so much for your support.

Brian remains an incredibly special person in all of our lives, even in his passing. In his final days, Brian assured us that he felt he had lived a great life and that he was not worried about himself, but about those he was leaving behind. He wishes for us all to keep enjoying each day we have with each other and to live our lives to the fullest.

Brian never put off an adventure or turned down an opportunity to spend time with friends. He always saw the best in people and ensured that all those around him felt loved and included. I hope we can all follow his example and make him proud. There is no replacement for the light and the joy that Brian brought into all of our lives, but we can do our best to make our own in his honor.

Every time we get to enjoy a powder day on the mountain, a sunny day at the crag, a beautiful hike through the woods, have a large bass on the line, or we spot an eagle soaring overhead, I hope we can be reminded of all the things that Brian held dear and that we keep him alive in our memories and in our hearts. Let's remember him so we can put our best selves forward into the world and live with as much passion for life as he did.
