Brian Campbell—kick cancer!
Donation protected
Hi, we (Campbell Clan) are fundraising for Brian Campbell and his family, as he battles cancer. As many of you know, he had to take a leave from work in NM and temporarily relocate to Houston for his treatment at MD Anderson. These funds will be greatly appreciated and be used for medical bills, travel, food/daily necessities, etc.
Any amount you can give will be beneficial to them during this difficult time. Thank you for your contribution and for continued prayers for Brian and his family.
See below for a message from Brian:
In January of 2024, I had a pesty earache which seemed to be bothering my throat. On January 25, I looked at my throat for the first time and knew that it didn’t look right. I was told that it may be a peritonsillar abscess, and that it needed to be checked out by an Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor. On February 6 the doctor tried unsuccessfully to surgically remove it. The resulting biopsy determined that it was squamous cell carcinoma.
Needless to say, life has been a whirlwind ever since. It’s a surreal experience when someone tells you that you have cancer. “Are you sure? I don’t feel like I have cancer.” Since that time, I’ve had in the neighborhood of 30 appointments, consultations, tests, and scans and despite my disbelief, I do in fact have cancer. For the next 10 weeks, my wife and I will relocate to Houston to be with our kids and I will receive treatment at MD Anderson.
Along with my amazing family, my church family, my students (in real life I’m a teacher), my co-workers, and complete strangers I have received more love and support than I deserve. It’s a little overwhelming, but I’m so thankful for everybody. It’s a humbling thing when someone says “I’ve prayed for you”. To me it’s the most important and meaningful thing a person can do for another and I appreciate it.
