Brian Devlin Covid Recovery Fund
What: Brian Devlin Covid Recovery Fund
I am trying to help my brother Brian who was hospitalized with Covid-19. Brian is in intensive care and isolated and his life is in the balance. My wife and her family are “praying up a storm” and I have confidence that will help a lot.
Goal: $50,000
From what I understand intensive care treatment for Covid-19 can last from 6 – 10 days and the average cost with respirator treatment is about $8,000 a day. So his treatment is going to cost a lot. Brian has insurance but he must pay 40% of the cost of the icu (about $3200 a day to him) plus 20% of his other medical expenses.
About Brian:
Brian has spent nearly his entire career in the Bar Business. He started as a Bar Back, and was promoted to a Bartender. He went on to manage several bars in Houston and saved enough money to open a small bar of his own. He grew that business and sold it several years ago to open a larger place in the Cypress area. As with many businesses in Houston the last 8 – 10 years have been a challenge with two major floods which cost many days of business operations and many dollars to rebuild. The Covid lockdown had been going on for nearly three months and Brian’s was incurring losses every month. As soon as he could he went back to work and the latest tragedy struck. Brian contracted Covid-19 and he is in quarantine. His family is in self-quarantine and the situation is pretty desperate.
Please help:
Over the years Brian has been very generous in his assistance to friends and regular customers, when they have run into hard times. He has been quick to host fundraisers, or collect money, or buy tickets to support local youth and community activities. I am hoping that his “karmic investment” will pay dividends now.
Share some hope and kindness:
Please keep Brian in your prayers and let your friends know about Brian and his situation. I know times are difficult for everyone, but a little bit of help from a lot of friends will go a long way.
