Brian Durr and his family need your help!
Please consider supporting Brian Durr and his family (wife Angela, 11 year old daughter Keeleigh, and 13 year old son Caleb). Over four years ago, Brian began experiencing progressively debilitating physical problems and has been diagnosed with a very rare disease called “Refractory Neuro-Celiac Disease.” He has not been able to work and has been without a regular paycheck for over three years, thus crippling their financial stability.
Celiac Disease itself is reasonably common. However, the Refractory Neuro clause stipulates a more rare and serious group of diseases within. Brian could easily be the only person in the world with this exact form. There is no known treatment. Ongoing medical efforts are experimental, thus there is no prognosis.
The main affect, of many, is that Brian’s muscles do not get the signal from his brain to relax. His muscles and tendons are always flexed and continually battling each other. Some are beginning to tear and there is grave concern.
The rareness of the Refractory Neuro diagnosis has negatively impacted insurance coverage for medical expenses. It also caused cancellation of a modest amount of financial assistance from long term disability insurance in January 2019. Wife Angela is a self-employed CPA but is dedicating most of her time to Brian and is now handling only 20% of her normal workload.
Brian’s average medical expenses are over $5,000 per month. Not included are basic living expenses or previously incurred debt. Brian has filed appeals for denials and has applied for all means of possible assistance. His team of doctors are also advocating for him. Unfortunately, it could be a long time before the systems administrate any financial assistance for Brian.
We are all called to serve those in need. Brian and his family would greatly appreciate any and all support you feel called to offer.
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. - Hebrews 13:16
