In Loving Memory of Brian Ellery

Words we never imagined we'd ever write, our dad, our mom's true love of 41 years, is gone. In an instant. Our world has shattered as we've lost our boy scout, our doomsday prepper, our "dad joke" teller, our world news correspondent. We've lost the man that jumps into action when one of his kids is in peril, the 'wet-willie' giver, the photo bomber, the creator of many inside jokes.
He's the one who held mom's hand through cancer treatments, who always told us kids how proud he was of us, who BBQ'd for the neighborhood during covid. The man who rescued a loud barking pooch and loved him unconditionally, the man who always made sure we had a flashlight and batteries, "just in case," spent so much time worrying about his family and not about himself.
Our dad planned for so many things, but didn't see this coming. No one could've seen this coming. He left us in an instant, but in the aftermath, we've realized there are many uncertain times ahead. From astronomical medical bills for drastic attempts at life saving measures, to daily chores for two that now lay on the shoulders of one. It's an adjustment of a lifetime and one that was not planned for with life insurance.
Already so many friends and loved ones have asked how they could help. There's only so many tangible things mom needs, besides the love of her life back. So we created this fund in case this is your means of assistance or support. It's in no way the only way to help, but merely an outlet. Dad wouldn't want a bunch of flowers showing up at their house. But rather an influx of support via meals, prayers, shoulders to cry on, and financial stability for mom. Whatever your heart is leading you to, we appreciate your love and support.
For this family who has always been the model of a close family, this time is beyond unimaginable.
Thank you for loving us through this time.
