With great sadness I'm sharing that my brother Brian passed away unexpectedly Sunday. He was a great guy and would do anything for anyone. His life didn't turn out how I had wished for him. He had his problems, but I loved him more than I can say in words. He had been living with my wife Jennifer and me in Maryland the last 10 years.
Brian didn't have much. He only worked when he could find construction jobs, mostly remodeling work. He was really great at it, but just could find the right people to work for. He helped Jennifer and I a lot around our house.
Being Brian's only close relative means I have to make final arrangements. I have begun the process with great sadness in my heart. I am having him cremated and there will be no service at this time, but I hope to do something in New Jersey later this year.
I am hoping to raise some money to help with the funeral costs and other final expenses, but it feels weird asking. I am not sure what these will be. This is an expense I was not expecting and I am hoping in lieu of flowers or cards friends can show their love in this way.
